Nuri Yesilyurt
Ankara University, Turkey

The summer school was an invaluable experience for me. As a PhD student, I benefited very much from the lectures given by the outstanding scholars/professionals in the field of Internet Governance. Above all, to get to know other fellows from different parts of the world with different backgrounds, and socialize with them in a sense that provides both academic and cultural exchange was surely the best part of the summer school.

Andrea Glorioso
Politecnico di Torino - NEXA Research Center for internet and society, Italy

The European Summer School on Internet Governance was one of the best experiences of my professional and personal life. Besides getting a high-level, very well organized overview of the main hot
topics on Internet Governance research, I had the opportunity to meet and work with a number of individuals from different parts of the world, which allowed a fruitful exchange of experience and
perspectives. All in all, I am extremely satisfied with the EURO-SSIG and I would recommend it to anyone interested in Internet Governance topics.

Iveta Skujina

Summer school gave me opportunity to look on IG processes from more academic perspective. As a student from lectures I got new ideas for further studies, on the other hand as a representative of Latvia's .lv Registry I got broader view on the IG processes from standpoints of society, government, industry and scholars. It was a great possibility to meet with students from different countries with diverse political situations in IG and to share experience in first summer school on Internet Governance.

First of all it was a great honour for me to be a part of such professionals gathered in Meissen. Being a new person in IG sphere, it gave me the full picture of what is being understood under Internet Governance. A very professional and high profile faculty members presented thoroughly the history of IG since WSIS process and perspective for future development of this issue.

My name is George Victor Salama, I worked for the National Telecom Regulatory Authority of Egypt, I got my Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo, and in progress with my Masters Degress in Business Information Technology from Middlesex Univ. London. The Euro-SSIG is one of the most significant programs I had ever attended. The faculty are of a very high professional level. The participant being from different countries and backgrounds provides an amazing opportunity to share knowledge and experiences. Finally, the venue can be considered an ideal choice for such program.

It was an event of a highest value. The program was dense, but very interesting. I have accumulated a lot of information in a short time, I’ve met wonderful people – both lecturers and students, who enriched my staying in Meissen not only professionally, by sharing knowledge and opinions on IG issues, but also personally, by learning about other countries and cultures and making friends. Congratulations to the organisers for delivering a best-quality event and thank you all participants for making this week so enjoyable and unforgettable.

Lauren Movius

I'm a PhD student interested in international media policy and and the implications of globalization on media and communication industries, politics and culture. The Euro-SSIG provided a stimulating week of lectures and discussion on a wide range of IG issues, from historical background to social and political issues on the Internet. The Euro-SSIG also scheduled time for cultural events and social gatherings. The highlight of our week was to interact with such a dynamic, diverse and welcoming group.

The Euro-SSIG was one of the best events of this kind I have ever attended. The quality of lecturers and student fellows was at the highest level, and I think I never learned so much in only one week. Also, this summer school was a perfect place to meet wonderful people from all over the world and make new friendships. I would recommend this school to anyone interesting in this very actual and interesting issue of Internet governance.
